Weekly Activities on 30/8/2014‏

Activities for Saturday 30/8/14

As it is the last week of the month, Mustard Seed will take over for the serving of breakfast. Our session will start at 0800 sharp.

First Session:
Time: 0800 - 1200
Activities: Food Festival (Ice Cream Toast) + Bingo

For this Food Festival, we will have students from Naval Base Secondary School joining us. With this in mind, to involve all the volunteers who turns up to help, we will be preparing food and playing Bingo in concurrent with the beneficiaries.

Rough Timeline:
0800 - Briefing of event to the students of Naval Base Secondary School including a background of CMH and Heartwarmers
0830 - Setup of equipment and start preparation of food
        - In Concurrent, Bingo Session with the beneficiaries -
0945 - Serving of Teabreak
1030 - Finish packing up & end off the day event for Naval Base Secondary School students (we may carry on with a lunch outing should we have the time and energy)

Second Session:
Time: 1330 - 1630 
Location: SWAMI Home
Activities: Strum and Sing with Alan and Friends + Serving of Tea Break

Please take note that we will be going to SWAMI Home in the afternoon this Saturday in place of our usual Session 2 at Christalite Methodist Home.

Stand-down of activities on 9/8/2014 (National Day)‏

As it is our Nation's 49th birthday this Saturday, we will be standing down so that you can have a good break and enjoy the National Day weekend.

See you back next Saturday. We will be having our monthly food festival at CMH as well as a visit to SWAMI home in the afternoon.

Appreciation for Getai Celebration 2014

Hi everybody! 

The event has managed to go smoothly under the assistance of everybody. Really thankful to everyone who had managed to make time to volunteer in the Getai 2014 last Saturday. A very big thank-you to all with the help rendered in all ways, really appreciated!

Heartwarmers Getai 2014 marks another major event done in year 2014 with credits of everyone. Thank you once again for the support you all have given and do continue to take note of our next coming events 

You know it is worth it when you see the happiness in the beneficiaries' smile!

7th Month Getai Celebration @ CMH on 2/8/2014‏

Activities for Saturday 2/8/14

First Session:

Once again, it's the time of the year where the Hungry Ghost Festival is upon us. This year, the organizers have spent much effort to put together the celebration and auction on this very special day. So, what are you waiting for?? Come down and join us this Saturday!!

Note from organizer:

  • Volunteers to reach at 9.50am sharp for a briefing
  • Event approximate timing: 11am – 1pm
  • Help will be needed for the preparation after the briefing (re-arranging of tables if required) and serving of food for the beneficiaries at 11am
  • Volunteers will be assigned to all the tables during the Auction session (to maintain orderliness and assist the beneficiaries with the auction) 
  • If you can, bring along your friends or family along this coming Saturday, 2nd August 2014, to volunteer together!

Here's a big thank you to all of you who have turned up in for the event last Saturday.
Without you the event would not have been carried out so successfully.

Hari Raya Goodie Bag Event @ Henderson CC on 19/7/14‏

Event Details:

Background:
Heartwarmers have been distributing goodie bags for a group of philanthropists to the needy families in Singapore biannually, during Chinese New Year and Hari Raya. This year we are distributing up to 2400 sets of goodie bags to the beneficiaries around Singapore. These beneficiaries comes from the various Volunteer Welfare Organisations in Singapore.

Objective:
To benefit segments of the community who are (1) most in need and (2) not receiving enough assistance
Low-income/needy
Lower middle income
What you will be helping out with:
All the volunteers will be divided into 2 groups for the event.
- To assist with the loading of goodie bags weighing about 10 kg each up to the vehicles of the VWOs that we will be distributing to.
- You may also be asked to help out with road marshaling duty if required.
